Type based posters

Title.  Bible based concept posters.

Create a range of type based posters focussing on passages from the bible which encourage rather than preach to a non-christian audience.
The aim is to put the bible back into a positive light and show that there is more to it than just conversion.
There have been many attempts previously to make christian design modern but more often or not it goes wrong and falls into the bracket of 'cheesy'.

I need to investigate into why this happens and how I am going to be able to do it differently so that people actually want to look and enjoy it whilst understanding the importance of the message.

I am going to create 5 posters which can be produced in a number of colours and across the range of posters, greetings cards, post cards, t-shirts/hoodies and bus stop boards/bill boards.

By focusing on well crafted type design I should be able to hit the nail on the head by simply creating something which has been well thought out.

Colour is important, as is the choice of passage.

Deadline for concepts - 4th November.
ultimate Deadline - 12th December.

Hello Love continuation.

Title.  Wedding stationery range

To complete a range of wedding stationery for my own wedding on the 6th of November which is themed on an already chosen colour palette.  There must be a beautiful consistency and a focus on paper and format.

Concept.  Considering the invitation is almost complete I want to follow on from that and design the complete range of stationery for my wedding.  The chosen colours are Yellow, Orange and Grey and there is no set theme.  I would like to base the stationery around paper and format- focusing on the way things are folded or cut to suit the product and its use.

I will be designing. Save the date card, Completed Invitation, Order of service, Table Plan, Place names, table numbers, Thank you Cards, Bunting and other necessary decoration.

Mandatory requirements. Paper based, consistent theme/stock/colour.

Deadline.  3rd November 2011

Book fair brief

Title.  Greetings cards for the manchester book fair.

Description.  Design a range of greetings cards to sell at Manchester Book fair on the 22nd October.

Concept.  I want to create a range of patterns which can be used across a range of stationery eventually but to start with be used just on Greetings cards for the book fair.  They will be based on thinks people may collect/hobbies etc as it is something someone will want to buy FOR someone with those interests.

They must.  They will have to be suitable for those attending the book fair - creatives/students/professional creatives/collectors.
This is good as I feel I have a good understanding of this as I am the audience for the this project.  I could imagine it will be people of a similar age and position who would attend the book fair.

Mandatory requirements.  20 greetings cards with a range of designs.

Deadline.  17th October

Rationale.

Ethically driven investigation of branding and identity with a focus on print and format.
Hand rendered investigation of paper and print with a focus on colour.
An investigation into pattern and colour to be used across a range of stationary.

Statement of Intent.

To develop a quality professional portfolio full of work specific to my interests so that clients and potential employers know that I have a wide range of skills but want to work within specific areas.
I want to develop my software skills on photoshop. Illustrator and InDesign- again to highlight professionalism and to feel confident enough with any digital job.
I also want to be able to know the ins and outs of the printing process – as I am hoping to create/develop the wedding stationary range this will be very important in knowing colour etc and again in working with clients.
As I want to be an Ethically driven designer I feel it is important for me to take on a number of brief which have been created by charities.
I want to have a good sense of organisation and be able to balance my time well with each project.
I want to reach every deadline and not have to rush right at the end, it would be nice to have a good balance of work across each day.

I hope to be able to be confident in screen printing – as again this would be important within stationary.
