Wasn't too keen on the font. This seems easier to read and more suitable for the product. I have also changed the colour of the final quarter so that each page is different.
I can use these pages in a key also. I am going to print this 25 time so there will be 100 pages in the book. Although this will be quite thick I could turn it into a couple of books instead. Of course a problem lies when considering this will only be for 25 days. Of course more are needed. Something I need to think about, may have to make pages slightly larger and so there can be more on one page. The other option could be to disregard the 4th quarter for doodling. This is not really essential and there is room on the 'Anything else?' page for doodles.

I know it is really simple but this is just the first design, and as I said in the previous post I want to get it done really quickly so that I can get organising. Each quarter is a seperate page and it will be an A6 sized book. I am using a mettle ring binder to connect it together and I going to use either perspex or cardboard for the front and back cover.

10 things

Although it is now summer (or at least the end of term) I really want to organise every single part of my life. Sounds impossible but I think I can use design work to help me do this. All of a sudden my mind is going crazy with visual ideas and more to make some money over summer. Although this may not happen it would still be beneficial to explore my own independant practice and see where I would get without anyone pushing me. Usually I prefer to be pushed and really need that encouragement and the 9-5 routine but I want to start to change that as I develope my own working style.
1. I want to design my own daily planner. I need it to include : Budget guide, Space for lists and the time it takes, something similar to a calender (day to day planner). - I want to keep it simple so that it is easy to look at and small so it can fit in my bag/pocket so it is always handy. I am going to make this a 2 day brief so that I can get started with the planning asap.
2. I have been looking into designing a set of greetings cards. I often walk into card shops and I am unimpressed with the range. Also I know it is a way for me to save money instead of buying cards. I want to incorporate pattern, illustration and crafting.
3. In line with '2' I therefore want to explore more in illustration. each different place I visit I want to draw something from it. This can be as simple as I want but I really want to start drawing more!
4. Whatever I do I want to find 5 designs which have inspired the process. I need to make context more important and visible on my blog.
5. I would really like to gain a better understanding of photoshop and illustrator as I want to know exactly how to convert a piece of hand rendered work into digital so it can be printed.
6. Makesure the entire of my blog looks good. at the moment a couple of pages are still the old style and I want to make it all exciting.
7. I want to attempt to get small jobs from people I know. Paid or unpaid - not too worried. Just want to get an idea of the range of work I can be doing.
8. Work on pattern - how it is used in design. Something I am really interested in.
9. I want to blog at least 3 times a week.
